What Murmur does

Everything you can do with your voice.

Speak naturally. Murmur listens, understands, and writes — then helps you change it.

Transcribe and polish

Talk the way you talk — ums, do-overs and all. Murmur removes the fillers, applies your “no wait”s, fixes punctuation, and shapes it for where it’s going. Or give it a recording or video, up to an hour, for the whole transcript — or have it transcribe and note a meeting in the room, with the summary and action items.

Edit by voice

Start with “Pip” (or “Murmur”) and say what to change — “make that shorter”, “change Tuesday to Wednesday”. Or “scratch that”. Every edit shows what changed, with Undo.

Texting tools

Say what you mean and get the message. Warmer · Shorter · Firmer · Funnier under any result. Reply from a screenshot of the conversation.

Learns your words

Names, jargon and brand spellings in your Dictionary. Words it isn’t sure about get a dotted underline — fix one once and it learns it.

Languages and Write in

It keeps the language you speak — even two in one sentence. Turn on Write in to speak one language and get another.

Everywhere you type

The iPhone keyboard and Siri, Mac and Windows (hold a key and talk, in any app), and any browser. Your words, wherever your cursor is.

It fits how you actually live

The best time to write is usually the worst time to type.

Pip listens while you cook

“Text Mom I'll be there by six, no wait, six-thirty.” It's sent before you've wiped your hands.

Pip walking along, car keys in hand

Pip keeps up on the walk to your car

A whole email to your team — rambled out loud, punctuated and polished — ready to send before you reach the door.

Pip asleep on a crescent moon, with three small stars

Pip catches your midnight ideas

You mumble the thought into your phone half-asleep. In the morning it's a clean, readable note, not a wall of mush.

Speak naturally

It understands what you meant.

Ramble, backtrack, change your mind mid-sentence. Murmur removes the fillers, applies your spoken corrections and fixes the punctuation — so what lands is what you meant, not a transcript of your stumbles.

Pick a style for where it’s going — a quick text, a proper email — and dial the cleanup from Off to Heavy. Say “new paragraph” or “bullet point” and it formats as you talk.

um so meet me friday no wait make that thursday

Edit by voice

Change it without touching it.

Start with “Pip” (or “Murmur”) and say what to change: “make that shorter”, “change Tuesday to Wednesday”, “make the whole message more professional”. No highlighting, no retyping.

Said something you didn’t mean? Just say “scratch that”. Every edit shows what changed, with an Undo — and on Mac and Windows it works on the words you just typed into any app.

Hey team, just wanted to let you all know that the launch is going to be moved to Tuesday because we need a little more time to finish testing everything.

“Murmur, make that shorter”

Team — launch moves to Tuesday so we can finish testing.

Hey Brandon, I went through the numbers, and I’m a little worried we might be overspending.

Stay in control

See exactly what changed.

Other dictation apps quietly rewrite you and hope you don’t notice. Murmur shows a word-level diff of every edit and keeps your raw words one tap away. Your words stay yours.

And no word limits: others cap the free tier at a couple thousand words a week. Murmur never counts. Talk all day.

Questions

How is this different from the mic on my keyboard?

Your keyboard's mic types exactly what you say — every um, every false start, every “no wait.” Murmur understands what you meant: it removes fillers, applies your spoken corrections, fixes punctuation, and shapes the result for where it's going — and shows you exactly what it changed.

Does it work in every app?

On Mac and Windows, hold one key and talk — your words land wherever your cursor is, in any app. On iPhone, the Murmur keyboard works in the apps you type in, and Siri, the Action Button or Back Tap can start a dictation. On the web, any modern browser.

What happens to my voice?

It's turned into text and isn't kept — not by us, and not by our AI providers, which work under zero data retention. Your history and Dictionary stay on your own device. No account, no ads, no tracking. The only exception is voice samples, which are off unless you turn them on.

What does it cost?

Murmur is free during the preview, with every feature on every platform — and no word limits.

Do I need to talk perfectly?

The opposite. Talk the way you actually talk — ramble, backtrack, change your mind. That's exactly what Murmur is built for.

I already use it on my phone. Will my computer know my words?

It can, in a minute. There are no accounts, so each device keeps its own words — but on your phone, Settings → Move my words to another device gives you a one-time code. Type it on your computer (Settings → Bring my words from another device) and your name, Dictionary, snippets and settings come across, encrypted so Murmur can't read them.

Speak. Command. Create.

You can talk naturally. Murmur takes it from there.
